Each of us has a completely unique experience as a human being. We are compelled to give expression to that experience in a creative way, to find our own "voice." When expressed from the heart and soul, our voice resonates as universal and carries the power to move, heal and inspire others. Our passion is working with students to achieve truthful and powerful self expression, integrating mind, body and spirit. We encourage and support each student on their journey to find their own unique voice in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Our Approach
SRQ Theater Arts Artistic Director, Terri Solomon, has over thirty years experience as a professional actor, singer, director and private coach. In order to prepare the well rounded actor, Ms. Solomon works with each student on movement and voice in addition to teaching acting technique rooted in the Stanislavski method. Our goal is to provide the student with the skills necessary to ground their work in emotional truth to create a fully realized performance.

With the many varied activities available for your child, why choose acting?
Acting provides an enriching experience for your child that combines fun, excitement, and creativity, as well as personal growth.
Acting is the art of effective, truthful communication. In that quest, the student learns to locate their own individual voice and to share it with others. For the child who is somewhat shy and reserved, acting classes have proven to be one of the most effective methods in building self-confidence.
The acting student must also learn to connect with their feelings. As they learn more about themselves, they cannot help but increase their empathy for others. Students share their journey of revelation and self-expression together in a safe and caring environment.
Imagination and creativity also play a large part in the art of acting. Theater games, acting exercises and improvisation are fun ways to encourage and enhance these parts of ourselves.
Whether your child is on the path to becoming a professional actor or simply seeking an exciting, interesting way to broaden his/her horizons, the skills and confidence developed in learning the craft of acting will provide a lifetime of benefits.
"Terri's grasp of technique, her background as a performer, her warmth and her wit -- combine to provide her students with a truly unique journey toward better understanding themselves and the craft of acting."

"I have worked closely with Terri Solomon in the world of theater at a school setting for the past five years. Terri has a gift of taking even the most timid child out of his/her shell through her humor, and pulsates the child with a sense of awe as they transform themselves into characters who can not only act, but sing and dance as well. Their level of confidence soars, their self-esteem blossoms, their teamwork matures and their pride can truly be felt by all who witness their sophisticated, Broadway-styled performances. I have the greatest respect for the level of professionalism that Terri brings to each project she embarks upon. When you are around Terri, you simply want to SING!! Life is a delightful treat when you are in Terri's presence."

"As the writer, director and choreographer of several student productions,Terri motivated children to express themselves with confidence, and encouraged them to discover talents they did not know they had! Under her leadership, our children developed a love of theater, and a healthy self-esteem that results from reaching inside, working hard and experiencing the pride that comes with success."
