Philosophy
At SRQ Dance, Inc., we celebrate dance as a
beautiful and expressive art form -- an art
form with rich history and tradition that
has entertained and enriched audiences,
artists, and recreational participants for
centuries.
Our school was founded on the belief that
the best way to send a young person into
the future, regardless of their goals, are
with confidence, self-respect,
determination, respect for others,
perseverance, creativity, and adaptability.
In our positive learning environment,
students enter adulthood with the ability
to exceed at whatever life places before
them while maintaining the uncompromising
standards learned during their dance
training.
We are committed to the belief that
exceptional dance training builds enduring
life skills.
To that end, SRQ Dance, Inc. is committed
to:
High-caliber training for all students,
regardless of future career goals.
A prestigious and highly credentialed
faculty who work as a team to build
cohesive technique and style and to nurture
each student’s talents and goals.
A positive, motivating environment that
promotes dance’s unique ability to increase
self-esteem, self-assurance and poise.
A professional atmosphere that encourages
reciprocal respect between instructors and
students and rewards the virtues of
determination, hard work, and personal
integrity.
Meaningful, age-appropriate performing
opportunities for our
students.

Method
SRQ’s teaching methods are much more than a
common dance experience. Each class is a
component of a carefully crafted,
progressive curriculum designed not only to
strengthen your child’s physical abilities,
but also to improve their listening and
learning skills. This translates outside
the dance studio at home, at play, and
while learning.
Your child will have:
-Stronger Coordination
-More Independence
-Greater Confidence
-Better Ability to Manage Stress
-Enthusiasm about Learning New Concepts
Because new skills are built one upon
another, from class to class and age-group
to age-group, SRQ’s curriculum literally
grows with your child. And the real world
benefits they experience beyond their solid
dance education keeps growing as
well.

Policies
DRESS CODE
SRQ dress code is designed so students may
be taught with the greatest efficiency.
Anyone not wearing the proper dress code is
unable to participate in class, but may sit
and observe class. Without students in
dress code, the class is difficult to teach
because colored or print garments and
cover-ups distract the teacher from being
able to see and correct the line of the
body, just as loose hair hinders a students
progress in mastering turns and neck
placement. Students must be prepared each
class with correct shoes, attire, and all
the necessary accessories to put up hair.
No jewelry may be worn in any classes with
the exception of small earrings.
BALLET Solid black leotard with pink tights
and ballet slippers. Hair must be off the
face and in a bun. No clothing may be worn
over the leotard and tights.
JAZZ/ACRO/TAP/LYRICAL Traditional ballet
attire may be worn with jazz pants or
shorts. Hair must be worn off the face.
Students may not wear loose fitting
garments such as T-shirts or sweat pants.
Appropriate shoes must be worn to each
class.
CHILDREN’S CLASSES Any color or style of
dance wear. Please do not wear “stage”
costumes to class. Hair must be off the
face.
NO FOOD AND DRINK ALLOWED IN THE STUDIOS
with the exception of bottled water.
